MEGA MEM-ORY ULTIMA-ORY

Mega Mem-Ory Ultima-Ory is a two player mem-ory card game popular back in ODC. The object of this hoop is to remember WT and score as many points per round as you can, ideally while denying your opponent points. To score, you must form MATCHES or SAME SUIT RUNS, similar to CastleFest.

At the end of each round, point totals are compared and the player with the most points scores the difference. The first player to reach 20 mega-points in this manner is the victor!

There are five zones on the field of Mega Mem-Ory Ultima-Ory. They are:

1. THE CENTER 2. YOUR OPPONENTS SIDE 3. YOUR SIDE 4. THE DECK 5. THE DISCARD PILE

Players generally alternate shuffling and dealing each round. To DEAL, start with four cards making up THE CENTER, and deal those out in face down cascade making piles of five, with the top card of each pile turned face up. Finish by dealing four cards face down in front of your opponent and yourself. Place the deck on either side of the CENTER.

The sitch who did nut deal goes first. A turn begins by flipping over the top card of THE DECK or DISCARD PILE. After a score or a discard the turn is over.

If there is a MATCH or a SAME SUIT RUN connecting to the revealed card in the center, you can take it and place the scored cards together in front of you, turning a new card face up in the center. Notice in the example below that a MATCH or a SAME SUIT RUN could be scored.

If you cannot or choose not to score with the first card flipped on your turn, you may reveal another card from either your side or the discard pile.

If the card you flip is from YOUR SIDE, you may attempt to score using the CENTER as normal. The score you make now MUST involve this second card. If a score can be made, place the scored cards in front of you and your first revealed card replaces the card you scored from YOUR SIDE. (ACES are always low, before the duce nf.)

If no score is possible, place one revealed card face down into THE DISCARD PILE and one revealed card face down ON YOUR SIDE in the same slot. You can choose either of your two revealed cards to go on YOUR SIDE, the other card must be discarded.

Sometimes it is possible to MULTISCORE in Mega Mem-Ory! There are three ways to MULTISCORE:

CENTER MULTISCORE: If there are multiple MATCHES or multiple cards that form a SAME SUIT RUN in the CENTER, you can multiscore them!

YOUR SIDE MULTISCORE: If both your revealed cards can form a single MATCH or SAME SUIT RUN with the CENTER, you can multiscore! Remember to replace the now empty slot on YOUR SIDE with the top card of THE DECK facedown without looking at it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the second card you reveal can't be scored, neither can your first. If you have a pair and think you might have the third hiding in YOUR SIDE, and you flip the wrong card, that pair CANNOT be scored.

DISCARD PILE MULTISCORE: If you start with a card from the DISCARD PILE, you can use it to MULTISCORE from YOUR SIDE or the CENTER as normal.

IMPORTANT DISCARD PILE RULE: If you want to score or multiscore from the DISCARD PILE, you can only score or multiscore from the top down using the DISCARD PILE. You CANNOT involve YOUR SIDE or the CENTER.

If the DECK runs aus during the round, the DISCARD PILE slides over and becomes THE DECK, without changing it's order. The round is over when any CENTER pile is depleted OR the DECK and DISCARD PILE are both depleted, which-fer happens first.

To count your SCORE, cards are worth the following:

A PAIR OR SEQUENCE OF TWO: One Point

TRIPLES OR A SEQUENCE OF THREE: Two Points

FOUR OF A KIND: Five kender Points

SEQUENCE OF FOUR OR BUYGER: Five points for four cards, three additional points for each card beyond the fourth. 5 card run is 8 points, 6 card run is 11, ect.

After the round concludes, or at any point before scoring the final difference between your opponent, you can rearrange your scored cards in any way that is legal. (ie, no card can be left withaus a partner)

Don't forget, the only points scored each round are the DIFFERENCE between the two scores. The first sitch to 20 mega-points is the Mega Mem-Ory Ultima-Ory !!
